God is...
God is…
Take a few minutes and think about that statement and say out loud all the things that God is to you.
For me, God is my strength; he is my provider; he is my comfort, he is my rock, and he is peace. This week I've had the opportunity to see God in a whole new light and, I'm just in awe of how amazing it is. I've been reading a few books throughout the week, and in one book called "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren, he mentions that God is like a parent. God created us for his delight and his purpose. "You are a child of God, and you bring pleasure to God like nothing else he has ever created." Just like a parent attends every after-school activity, cheers on their child for all the significant milestones they cross and finds that pure joy watching their kids grow up into amazing adults...this is the same way that God looks upon us. He is proud of everything you have accomplished in this life, even if you haven't experienced it yet. God is a good good father that is willing to go above and beyond to get his child back. He leaves the ninety-nine to save the one.
My favorite story in the Bible is Luke 15:11-32. In this story, there were two sons and a father. The younger son had asked for his share of the estate and eventually packed up belongings and left. He exhausted all the money that his father had given him, and famine swept over the land during that time. The younger son was desperate; he tried to convince a farmer to hire him. The son was food-deprived, yet no one gave him anything. He then started thinking that the servants at home always had enough food to spare, so he began to make his way back home. In verses 20-24, as the son was making his way back, the father saw him, and he ran with open arms and compassion and was filled with such joy to see his son. The younger son ended up telling his father that he was no longer worthy of even being called his son because of what he had done. His father's response was, "Bring the finest robe in the house and put it on him. Get a ring for his finger and sandals for his feet. And kill the calf we have been fattening. We must celebrate with a feast, for this son of mine was dead and has now returned to life." Using this story as a reference, God is mainly playing the role of a father, and no matter what we may do, he STILL welcomes us home and celebrates the fact that we came back!
God loves us so very much that he seeks to give us the best of the best. He cares so much for you, and he is willing to show you that unfailing love he has for you if you allow him. God is a gentleman. God is so patient with us, and he doesn't get frustrated or tired of us. He loves when we spend time with him and invest our lives in him. God is trustworthy. From experience, God is the only person in this world that WON'T fail you or forsake you. He is a genuine God, and when the things of this world fail us, God NEVER fails. He's someone to go to in times of trouble, and he is also someone who rejoices with you in the good times. God is just and true. God is merciful, and God makes the impossible….POSSIBLE.
"He is trustworthy. He cannot lie. YOU are HIS!"
