Here's My Heart

I wasn't sure what I wanted to write and share with all, but after reflecting, I realized that God was putting something on my heart this past week to share.

I recently just started learning how to play the ukulele and I came across this song called “Here’s My Heart.” This song is beautiful and it's a song of surrender. There’s a virus out there that has caused so much chaos and it’s affecting everyone whether it's physical, emotional or mental. I know most of us are dealing with anxiety, fear, worry, doubt and it's hard to stay hopeful during life changing circumstances. I admit that its been a daily struggle for me these past few weeks. Something that God showed me this week was found in Matthew 11:28-30...Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light."

We try to control circumstances that we just can't control. We put ourselves in a state of anxiety when things fall apart and uncertainty arises. I always struggled putting my trust in God, because I feared he wouldn't come through for me...but I reach a point where I can't do it anymore on my own. I reach a point where my own strength is failing and the only thing to do is give that part of my life to God. Through God we have NEW STRENGTH, through God we have HOPE, through God there is freedom, through God we are VICTORIOUS!! God wants us to surrender and give him our lives and in turn he will give us his heart. Give him your worries, give him your problems, give him your concerns, give him those pieces of your life that you've been trying to deal with on your own.

God can take all those burdens that may be hindering us, but we have to do our part and LET IT GO. Let God steer your life, let him call the shots in your life...God's way is so much better than our stubborn ways. If fear starts to creep in...GIVE IT TO GOD! You're financially struggling, GIVE YOUR FINANCES TO GOD! Dealing with anxiety, GIVE IT TO GOD. The chaos and panic that this virus has brought, LET GOD HANDLE IT. Family issues, GIVE IT TO GOD. There is nothing too big or too small for God to handle. 1 Peter 5:7 says, "Cast ALL your anxieties on him, for he cares for you."

The moment you choose to give it all up to God, is the moment you find true peace. He's waiting for you to run to him and cry out to him "Lord, I need you."
