He's Been There All Along

At 5 a.m, I woke up to this song playing called “Good Good Father.” The pastor spoke and said that we should just lift up a victorious shout of praise because Jesus conquered death, and that allows us to overcome whatever may come our way. He never changes, and he loves us. I raised my hands while in bed, and I was just thanking God for sending his one and only son to die for me. I thanked him that I can now walk in victory because Jesus did!!

“Run to the Father" started to play. With my eyes closed, a video I had seen at church popped into my head. The video showed a runner getting ready for his race, as the person released everyone to go...he took off at a good pace. As he was running, he was doing good; he wasn’t falling behind and wasn’t ahead just yet. But as he ran, he ended up hurting his hamstring and fell to the ground. He tried to get back up, with tears running down his face. He was adamant that he wanted to finish the race, so as he limps his way to the finish line...the best part happens. His father makes his way down and runs to him. He gets his son’s arm, puts it over him, and they walk together to finish the race.

I felt God put in my heart that he had always been there. Through my toughest, through my darkest, through my victorious moments, HE WAS ALWAYS THERE! From the beginning of time as he made me in my mother’s womb...HE WAS ALWAYS WITH ME! I want to tell you today that through this temporary season we are all facing, GOD IS RIGHT THERE WITH YOU! He is the comfort you need, the strength you long for, the hope you seek, and the love you deserve. Those moments where fear and anxiety keep you up at night, God is right there with you!

You've never been alone, although sometimes it may feel like that. Through every valley and through every mountaintop, God was and is right beside you. One thing that stood out to me this past week was that in the bible, Jesus was always right along side his disciples. He never left them. He was with Peter when Peter walked on the water. He was with the disciples during the storm on the boat. He was with them when there was 5,000 people to feed. Even after Peter denied him 3 times...Jesus never left him. Regardless, if the disciples struggled to keep their faith and regardless, if we go through the same...Jesus is there, He's been there all along.

Hebrews 13:5 says, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."  (NIV)
