It's Out of Your Control!
Peace I prayed and asked God to show me what he wanted me to share with you all and the title for this blog speaks for itself. I had a mentally challenging week and ended up having my breakdown Wednesday. I had an exam yesterday but had joined a study group where we literally studied for 2 whole days and half of yesterday. On Wednesday night, I started to feel funny and overwhelmed. As we all headed home...I started to cry. I felt mentally drained and I was so uneasy. Someone very special to me was there the night I broke down. This person allowed me to just cry...and it gave me a glimpse of how God is with us. He allows us to share our emotions with him and he won‘t say a word until he knows you're better. There’s a song called "Peace" by Hillsong Young & Free. God reminded me that when my mind wreaks havoc that peace is a promise he keeps. I read a devotional that night that talked about faith over fear and how "fear will tell you that you just can't do it...while Faith will tell you that you can do all things through Christ, which strengthens you." It's a good feeling when you allow God's peace to overtake your mind. I’ve always let the circumstances of life overwhelm me but not anymore. There’s peace in knowing that even if things don’t work out the way you want them to...God still has a way of working things out for the better. There’s peace knowing that no matter what the doctor tells you, know that it’s going to be okay and you’ll find other means. There’s peace in knowing that you’re not alone anymore and God has blessed you with amazing people to help you through life. There’s peace in knowing that through the hardest storms in life...God is right there fighting with you. There’s peace in knowing that you didn’t get the job because God is saving something for you that’s worth while. I encourage you all to just experience peace in your life...away from all the hectic moments life may bring. After that night, I told myself that whatever happened, good or bad, I knew that God has only good intentions for my life. In 2 Thessalonians 3:16, it says “Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.” How awesome is that! It’s never too late to find God’s peace. Isaiah 40:31, says “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.” Very well said, don‘t you think? Trust in God and have peace knowing that he’s got this and you only need to meet him halfway. You don’t have to overwhelm yourself with the storms that you may be going through...because God will bring you perfect peace and he will calm the storm. It’s like that story in Mark 4:35-41, where Jesus goes on a boat with his disciples and then a storm breaks out while Jesus is sleeping and the disciples become uneasy and freak and then wake up Jesus. All Jesus did was tell the storm to “Quiet and be still!”...and it stopped. And he questions the disciples why they were scared and if they still had no faith? Be at peace that God is in control and the moment that you become uneasy rest in the promises He keeps♥️
