He Can Do It All
“Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Ephesians 3:20-21 (NKJV)
I have never looked at this verse the way that I do now. I read this book called “God Is Able”, by Priscilla Shirer with my best friend. This whole book broke down the verse to its entirety and gave it a whole new meaning. What I love about this verse is that it shows God at work. God loves when we completely come to that place in our lives and fully surrender our problems to him. It NEVER bothers him, it’s never a burden and he finds joy when his children run to him. It’s okay, God won’t ever judge you or get tired of you. “He alone can turn our kind of problems into the most incredible worship.”
I would say from experience, the moments that leave me in complete awe are the moments where God shows me “I’ve been here through it all, now let me be God and work this out for your good.” “Everything He restores, rekindles, and ressurects in our lives is specifically designed to exhibit His power, to bring Him glory.” It goes back to God, without him, I truthfully don’t know where I would be. He is a trustworthy and dependable God, who really just seeks the best for us.
I’ve struggled with the mentality that God forgot about working through my life as well as showing me who he was in my life when nothing seemed to happen. I would have friends talk about how God was moving in their lives and I would think... “Hey God, what about me?” Or I would have moments where I prayed, but subconsciously doubted that God wouldn't come through for me. This verse taught me not to put God’s ability in a box. “Exceeding abundantly all that we can ask or think…” God surpasses any expectation you have because he wants to show you that he has you covered. We don’t have to think for a moment that he doesn’t have us in the palm of his hand. “If we think what we’re asking is beyond what he can do, we’re not thinking big enough.”
GOD CAN DO IT ALL!!
No circumstance we face is ever TOO BIG or TOO small. God is able to supply us with the things we need to make it through. There’s nothing that he can’t do! He made you, he is the one who brought his own son to die for us, because he loved us that much. He is the one that brought the dead to life, and he is the one that is going to bring you through any circumstance that may be troubling you right now.
Lord, I pray for your son or daughter right in this moment. I pray that they be able to believe the truth that you have given them. I ask that as they go through their weeks, that you show yourself to them in a way that surpasses their expectations. Help their unbelief Lord. I pray that they begin to believe that you are and you will do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think. Remind us that nothing is ever too much, too small or too big for you. I thank you for loving us as we are and I pray these things in Jesus name...AMEN!
