Just Like You

I'm still reading "Unshakable Hope" by Max Lucado, and if I haven't already said it…I highly recommend it. It's been one of my favorite books this far, and it reiterates the promises of God. I actually just finished reading another chapter and this one was about Jesus and how he feels. It's happened to me where I sometimes forget that Jesus knows what I'm going through and how it makes me feel. I was reminded that Jesus also felt things when he was here on earth.

Max put it very well when he said, "Jesus is human, and he understands you." I was honestly at a loss for words because JESUS HAS FELT WHAT I FEEL RIGHT NOW. Jesus felt betrayal when his own disciple went behind his back and sought him out; he experienced temptation when he was out in the desert for 40 days. He knows what it feels like to be tired because he even rested by the well where he met the Good Samaritan women. Jesus even slept during a raging storm. He experienced pain when he was beaten and hung on a cross. Jesus wept when Lazarus passed. He felt anger, and he even had moments where he felt like throwing in the towel. Jesus felt everything, just like you. He knows. He understands that sometimes it's not easy, and it gets complicated. He understands and wants us to experience peace through him and only him.

"Let him do what he came to do; let him carry you home."

Max reminded me that Jesus has feelings too, and you're not in the wrong to feel the emotions that you may feel from time to time. We just have to make that decision to not allow those feelings to consume us. We have to remember that Jesus also pushed through, and he had God's strength to help him, so what would make us any different? He understands so much that he is willing to help us through…let him be your comforter, beloved!
