Palm of His Hand
I used to have a hard time accepting that God knew what was best, especially when things didn’t go the way I had hoped. Recently, I’ve been able to experience just how great God is. He gives us the best of the best. He has us under the palm of his hand, watching over us.
Just recently, I read through Psalms 91. And verse 7 says, “ Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you.” (NLT) I really didn’t pay attention to how much power this verse had until my dad showed me. God has you in his hands regardless of all that may be going on around you. Whether it’s a family drama, a lost opportunity, financial trouble, a pandemic even, God still has his best in mind. He still is protecting you from all that may be in line to hurt you. Sometimes the things that we hope to accomplish or live out in life can be the very thing that brings us down. In the middle of it, we don’t see it that way, but we can see that God was steering us away from something detrimental at the end of it.
More and more, I catch myself saying that God has you in the palm of his hand. He never promised that this life wouldn’t have trouble of its own, but he promised that he would walk with us and have our back every step of the way. God knows, and His ways are higher than our ways. At the end of the day, it’s his plan over our own. In fact, it’s the way God shows his love to us because he wants to give us more than we can ask or imagine. He knows what’s better for you, more than you think.
