Real Talk ...(cont'd)

Being able to fight the lies with the truth is  currently still a work in progress. Easier said than done...I know, but the things that I’ve believed about myself aren't true! They are just lies that I’ve told myself from time to time, and eventually I started to believe they were true. It might be the same for you, the mistakes or things you’ve done...do not by any means define the person that you are. You’re more than all your flaws and mistakes.

I'm sure that we have all had an image of what God's like or how he perceives us. Let me just say that God isn't this bad guy. He is compassionate, merciful, trustworthy, dependable, loving, and most of all caring. That’s who HE TRULY IS! He isn’t someone who wants to make you feel horrible or does horrible things to you if you do wrong. Nothing like that at all. He’s a friend and a father. He only wants what is best for you and me. The moment that you allow your perspective of God to change, is the moment he'll show you just how GREAT he is.

Occasionally, there will  be people that we can never please. That’s just how it is, but you aren’t here to please people. You weren’t called to fit in and be like the rest of the crowd, you were born to stand out. God only made one of you for a reason. Once you reach that point of not doing things for others, that's when you realize their opinion does not matter. You are the only one that matters.

Someone once told me that there is always going to be highs and lows in life...but there’s a difference when you allow the problem you are facing to define the rest of your life or you choose to put those boxing gloves on and fight. As hard as it is, I choose everyday to fight. I’m not giving up just because I have an off week. Trust me, I feel so tired and just completely done at times...but I have to keep going because God isn't done with me yet! I literally have to pep talk myself out of how I'm feeing. YOU have to do it for yourself, not for everyone else. Isaiah 40:31 says " But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not weary. They will walk and not faint."

I won’t let whatever I’m going through win and neither should you! If I can do it, so can you. YOU are more than capable because God has given you the strength you need to get through it. You aren’t alone in what you’re going through. Let your story become your VICTORY STORY, God will come through for you. GET UP AND FIGHT THE LIES WITH THE TRUTH.
