Stay Strong!
Procedure went well last night for my grandpa. He woke up this morning feeling tired, but overall he felt good. Nurses told my mom today that he is now on 13 liters of oxygen, which is a lot better than where he was at...but is better if the number was lower. Sitting down or resting, my grandpa is only using 6 liters of oxygen; which is great!! He’s still continuing his therapy exercises, and is doing rather well.
Praying that he get to come home soon and that he begin to breathe without oxygen assistance. My grandma didn’t stay with us today, but my mom and I have been checking in with her and she’s been sleeping. Everything will get better soon...we just have to stay strong.
I’ve been reading “Unshakable Hope” by Max Lucado and part of the beginning chapter he mentioned how sometimes we have the choice of either pondering on the problem or remembering the promise. And I found that true, because I know I choose to focus on the problem and forget about everything else when that shouldn’t be the case. God is going to get you through it! I can vouch for that because, I’ve seen God come through for me when I was faced with situations that were completely out of my control.
In the chapter, Max went on to say, “For every problem in life God has given us a promise. Make it your aim to get so acquainted with these promises that you can write yourself a prescription.” An example he gave was “The world feels out of control. Time for a dose of Romans 8:28: “All things work together for good.” I loved this idea, especially how he incorporated scripture! I decided after reading this that I can make my own or even use the same sentence but change it to a verse that I want.
Here is mine, I’m feeling anxious right now. Time for me to take a bottle of 1 Peter 5:7: “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”
I’m feeling fearful. Time for a dose of 2 Timothy 1:7: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and a sound mind.”
I encourage you to try this out, it's something that I will be putting into practice. I know it can be a helpful tool when I begin to feel a certain a way AND it helps me to remember God’s promises. Reminding me to STAY STRONG and encourage me to have faith. God will come through!
