It's Not Over
My Gramps today is feeling a little better. They were able to lower his oxygen to 10 liters!!! Thank God!! His therapist said that he is doing well in his exercises, but he needs to pace himself. We sent him some word search and sudoku books, sugar-free candy, and strawberry shortbread cookies.
My grandma has still been home by herself. She's doing good so far and keeping busy. My mom and I FaceTimed her and my Gramps, and it was nice to see both of them. My mom was prescribed a new inhaler, isn't coughing as much...so praise God for that! Continuing to pray my Gramps comes home soon!
Today I heard a sermon from Pastor Todd called "Marked." He spoke on the story of David in 1 Samuel 16:6-13. Jesse brings all his sons to King Saul and goes to each of the brothers saying, "The Lord has not chosen any of these." King Saul then proceeds to ask Jesse if he has any other sons. Jesse responds to him, saying, "There's still the youngest, but he's out tending the sheep. David is brought to King Saul, and that's when God tells Saul, "This is the one; anoint him." Saul anoints him with oil, and that's when the spirit of the Lord was upon David.
Pastor Todd continues to say David had to learn how to be humble. David wasn't automatically King right away. Yes, David was anointed, but he still went back to tending sheep. That's when Pastor Todd says that God has given us the anointing, but it's not time to be in that position yet. God is trying to change your heart's posture before you can get to the position he has anointed you for. No matter what you have faced, you are still marked by God, and he will lead you where you need to be if we humble ourselves, obey, and be ourselves.
The part I loved most was when he said God has called us to be ourselves. When David was given King Saul's armor to fight against Goliath, the armor was too big and didn't fit. The unique part was that God didn't expect the armor to fit JUST YET! He wanted David to come as he was with his slingshot and five rocks. We shouldn't compare how someone else is thriving in an area we wish we were successful in too. We need to learn that we have been MARKED. God already anointed us while we were in our mother's womb.
Go through this life, knowing that God has already marked you. Go through this life knowing that you already have a purpose, but God is changing your heart's attitude to get there.
