The Best is Yet to Come

The phrase “Good things come to those who wait“...holds it’s true meaning. I had this plan for my entire life, I was going to go to school, graduate and get my degree in Nursing, work, get married and then have a family. This is the plan that almost everyone thinks by but I recently realized that sometimes our plans don’t play out the way we want. I was going to UTEP and I was already in the 2nd out of 3 phases. I failed one class and was put in a lottery system, but was unable to retake the class. I was devastated and felt like God had abandoned me. I began to doubt God and started to question him and ask “why did you bring me this far and then not let things work out for me?” I didn’t have a plan B...I only had a plan A.

It took me a while to start to believe that God had the best in store for me. I learned during a message given at church that the things we think are what’s best for us...are not the things that God thinks are best for us. God knows what he is doing and as hard as it is we need to truly trust him. Just because your plan doesn’t work out, doesn’t mean your life stops there and it’s over. There’s a better plan waiting to unfold if you just learn to trust that God has his best in mind. Jeremiah 29:11 says “For I have great plans for you declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. Believe that with your heart and remind yourself “the best is yet to come!!”
