Who You Say I Am

Sometimes when I see other people I think to myself “What do they have that I don’t have?” Some of you might think “why did they get the job and I didn’t?” Maybe some of you may ask “Why are they successful and I’m still waiting for my life to take off?” or “Why are they not struggling and I am?” Whatever questions you may be asking...STOP! It’s not good to have those questions running through your head. No one else can ever be you, because God only created one of you with the traits that make you...you!

You are uniquely made by God. Handcrafted in his own image. Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are God’s MASTERPIECE.” God made no mistake when he made you. He carried out a plan for your life that only you can do. This comparing game we do with our lives or with ourselves... wishing we could be something better is only going to make you feel worse. Learn to be satisfied with yourself and where you are at in life.

I’ve struggled with comparing myself to others. I see other girls and I’m just thinking why can’t I be like them? Or I see other people working in the medical field and I’m just thinking that could of been me, but I’m stuck here. God has a time table for your life and the more you rush his process it will only cause you to stress and jumble around trying to figure it out yourself. If I being honest, I’m glad that I went through each experience I’ve encountered, because it’s molding me into the person I’m supposed to be. Instead of looking at everyone and their life...focus on you. Each of us have been given a different race to run.

Don’t compare. You are perfect the way you are! Each flaw that you see in yourself, God sees it as beautiful. It’s like someone once told me…”The things that you don't like about yourself, could be the very thing that draw people closer to him.” Embrace you who are and where you are right now! It’ll be hard, but I can assure you that your confidence in yourself will change because you finally accept yourself. Let the one who created you, be the one that defines you. Stop believing the lies that develop because you don't feel like you measure up in this world. YOU ARE ENOUGH and in the eyes of the one who created you...he is pleased with you.

I don't know who may need to hear this today, but you're doing great...and God is saying to you today..."Look at me and let me be your mirror. Let me show you the way I see you"
