You Were Made to Stand Out!
I feel like more and more it’s a challenge for anyone to be apart of a group and start to feel like you really don’t belong. I admit that I’ve had my moments where I felt out of place and sometimes thought to myself if I could change my appearance, the way I talk, the things I find interest in and go with the flow of other people...I’d possibly fit in. I was always called a. “Goody-two shoes” in middle school and in high school was when I started to get called “little church girl”. I wasn‘t really a fan of being called those things but it wasn’t until I talked to my parents and realized that God ONLY made one of me!!
I know that if God really wanted to, he could of just made everyone the same, but he didn‘t. He took the time to create every detail that you see in yourself. I had this youth pastor that had once said “You are one of the uncommon”. Letting that sit and settle in my heart, it’s okay to be different and be yourself! You don’t ever have to change yourself, just so you can prove something to other people. People will automatically be drawn to you because they see something that they don’t see in other people.
Embrace the fact that you’re not like the world and know that you’re not alone! Be You! It’s like that phrase everyone uses...”if they jump off a bridge, are you going to jump off of it to?” Be your own leader and don’t try to be a follower. You have the opportunity to lead others who are following a path of disaster into a path thats worth taking. So when people look at you a certain way, or talk about you because you don’t do what others are doing, or they start calling you nicknames...don‘t let it affect you and embrace the beauty in being different.
