You're Ready

I heard a message from Holly Furtick, and all I can say is that God’s timing is beyond imaginable. She talked about the story of Gideon and how God called him to lead the Israel nation. I could relate to Gideon’s story because Gideon had the mentality of “I don’t think I’m ready for this!” He even questioned God, “How can I rescue Israel?” Gideon didn’t feel qualified to do what God had called him to do.

I’m sure that we’ve all felt that way before, where we have been put in situations that we don’t think we’re ready for. Sometimes you may tell yourself, “I’m not strong enough,” “I’m insecure…how can God use me?”, “I don’t really know much.” The thing is that God doesn’t see you like those things at all. He sees you confident and able to do. One thing that Holly said was this, “If God was looking for perfection, he wouldn’t have picked us.” God wants to use you, and he picked you!

It’s hard to do something you don’t feel ready for. I recently had a moment where I was trying to decide what I was going to do, and I told myself… “If I don’t do this now, then I’ll never do it.” I couldn’t just keep pushing it back because there’s nothing that could convince me otherwise. I had to jump, and I know that when we decide to jump into what God is leading us towards, he’s always going to be with us. God calls us according to our potential, and he is going patient with us. He understands that we may not be ready, but God’s work is more remarkable in the unexpected.

“When God gives you an assignment, he makes it big enough for you to question it and small enough for you to make your first step.” You’re ready for what God has put before you, you may feel inadequate, but God will help you because he’ll be with you.
